SWGCT Single Phase ATS – Compact, Reliable Backup Power Switching

A single phase ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch) is a compact, user-friendly electrical device designed to automatically switch electrical loads between two single-phase power sources, typically the utility grid and a backup generator or UPS. Unlike three-phase ATS, it is engineered for single-phase power systems (usually 220V/230V), which are widely used in residential homes, small commercial spaces, and light industrial applications. This switch ensures uninterrupted power supply for small to medium-sized loads, preventing inconvenience and losses caused by power outages.

The working principle of a single phase ATS is simple yet effective. It continuously monitors the primary power source (utility grid) for voltage stability and presence. When the grid power fails, fluctuates beyond safe limits, or experiences undervoltage/overvoltage, the switch automatically disconnects the grid power and connects the load to the backup power source. Once the grid power returns to normal and stabilizes, it automatically switches back, ensuring a seamless transition with minimal interruption to connected devices.

SWGCT single phase ATS is designed with simplicity, safety, and reliability in mind, making it ideal for residential and small commercial use. It features a compact, space-saving design that fits easily into standard electrical distribution boxes, requiring minimal installation space. The switch is equipped with a dual interlocking mechanism to prevent the simultaneous connection of two power sources, eliminating the risk of short circuits and electrical hazards.

This switch supports both automatic and manual operation modes, providing flexibility for different scenarios. Automatic mode is perfect for unattended use, such as residential homes, where it ensures continuous power for essential appliances like refrigerators, lighting, and security systems. Manual mode allows users to manually switch between power sources during maintenance or emergency situations. It is available in various rated current options (from 16A to 100A) to match different load sizes, from small household loads to small commercial equipment.

Compliant with international safety standards and built with high-quality components, SWGCT single phase ATS offers long service life and low maintenance requirements. It features clear LED status indicators, allowing users to easily monitor the switch’s operating status and power source connection. Whether for home backup power, small shops, or light industrial applications, this switch provides a reliable, cost-effective solution for single-phase power continuity.
