Although SWGCT automatic changeover switch features high reliability and stable performance, occasional faults may occur due to improper installation, usage, or long-term operation. Understanding common issues and simple troubleshooting methods can quickly resolve problems, ensuring the power supply system returns to normal promptly.

The most common issue is the switch failing to switch automatically when the main power fails. First, check if the switch is powered on and if the control module is operating normally; a loose control power wire may cause the module to fail. Next, verify that the main and backup power wiring is correct, and that voltage monitoring wires are properly connected. Incorrect wiring can prevent the switch from detecting power abnormalities. Finally, check if the switching delay time is set too long, causing delayed switching; adjust the delay parameter accordingly.

Another common issue is frequent switching between main and backup power sources. This is usually caused by unstable main power voltage or overly sensitive monitoring parameters. Check the main power supply for voltage fluctuations or intermittent faults, and resolve power source issues first. Adjust the switch’s undervoltage/overvoltage threshold parameters appropriately to reduce sensitivity, avoiding frequent switching due to temporary power instability.

Loose or overheating wiring terminals are also frequent problems, often caused by insufficient tightening during installation or long-term vibration. Immediately cut off power and tighten the terminal screws, and check for burnt wires; replace damaged wires if necessary. Keep the switch and distribution box clean to prevent dust accumulation from causing poor contact and overheating.

If the switch’s manual mode works but automatic mode fails, the control module or monitoring sensor may be faulty. In this case, stop using automatic mode and contact professional maintenance personnel for inspection and component replacement. Do not disassemble the control module without authorization. For serious faults such as internal arcing, burnt odor, or jamming, immediately cut off all power and replace the switch, as continued use poses safety risks.
